A445 IBOX Radiation Tolerant Engine Controller
A space-qualified radiation-tolerant integrated control subsystem managing spacecraft power switching, peripheral control, engine interfaces, cameras, RF transmitters, and sensor I/O via FPGA control logic.
Description
The A445 IBOX is Aitech's radiation-tolerant integrated engine and spacecraft controller, providing comprehensive power management and peripheral I/O control for spacecraft avionics systems. It manages spacecraft main power switching, control, and distribution through its Switch Card (SWC) and two High Power Distribution Unit (HPDU) cards, with overcurrent protection on all peripheral power switching outputs.
The system controls a broad array of spacecraft peripherals including engines, cameras, RF transmitters, various sensors, and deployment mechanisms such as landing leg actuators. Power switching is controlled via FPGA logic that is both radiation-tolerant and user-reprogrammable in the field, allowing mission software updates without hardware changes. Flash memory provides on-board data storage.
System I/O includes analog inputs, thermistor inputs, discrete I/O, serial ports, and SPI interface for comprehensive sensor and actuator connectivity. The small form factor design features low outgassing materials suitable for vacuum environments and a cold plate thermal interface.
