About TICRA

TICRA is a Danish antenna simulation and electromagnetic modelling software company founded in 1971 as a spin-off from the Laboratory of Electromagnetic Theory at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), by Professor Jesper Hansen and researchers N.C. Albertsen and Niels Eilskov Jensen. Headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark, TICRA develops purpose-built software tools for reflector and phased-array antenna design, analysis, and optimization used throughout the satellite communications, defence, and research sectors.

Its flagship platform, TICRA Tools, integrates a family of specialised modules in a single CAD and optimisation environment: GRASP for reflector antenna analysis, ARRAY for phased-array design, ESTEAM for general electromagnetic scattering and platform-antenna placement, CHAMP 3D for waveguide and feed-chain components, QUPES for reflectarrays and frequency-selective surfaces, POS for reflector shaping and array optimisation, and UQ for uncertainty quantification. Standalone programs SATSOFT, DIATOOL, and SNIFT extend the suite to coverage planning, antenna diagnostics, and near-field to far-field transformation.

TICRA has a long-standing relationship with the European Space Agency (ESA) and is used by satellite manufacturers, operators, and integrators including Airbus, Viasat, L3Harris, Intelsat, and MDA Space, as well as defence organisations and research institutions worldwide. With more than 50 years of expertise in electromagnetic modelling, TICRA's software is regarded as an industry standard for the design of high-performance reflector and array antennas used on communications, navigation, and Earth observation satellites.
