About
DIATOOL’s 3D reconstruction technique uses higher-order basis functions and curved quadrilateral patches, making it possible to reconstruct field and surface currents on arbitrary surfaces enclosing the antenna under test (AUT) — including conformal surfaces — with spatial resolution better than half a wavelength; applicable to electrically small and medium-sized antennas with effective memory use. The planar reconstruction technique uses a spherical-wave to plane-wave transformation, reconstructing the field on planar surfaces in front of or around the AUT, applicable to both small and large antennas with extremely fast computation and low memory requirements. DIATOOL also provides efficient post-processing of measured fields by computing clean antenna patterns where reconstructed currents on cables, mounting fixtures, or selected surface areas are suppressed — the conformal reconstruction surface acts as a physics-based filter that includes the shape of the AUT.
