About
The GOKTURK Earth Observation Satellite System Development (GOKTURK-Y) Project aims to develop an indigenous satellite system enabling the Turkish Armed Forces to sustain the very high-resolution electro-optical remote sensing capability obtained with the GOKTURK-1 satellite after its design life ends. The program covers development of a Low-Earth-Orbit very high-resolution electro-optical satellite and corresponding ground stations, along with launch and early orbit operations, commissioning activities, and engineering and integrated logistics support. The contract was signed between the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) and Turkish Aerospace in June 2021, with project activities ongoing as planned.
