About
MASTER-CHIEF is 2NDSpace’s extended On-Board Computer, building on the MASTER architecture with a dual core processor for multi-operation handling (Cortex M7 480MHz + Cortex M4 240MHz) plus an additional independent core processor dedicated to critical data management: a Cortex M7 running at 400MHz with 1MB RAM featuring ECC (error-correcting code) and 2MB program memory. It supports OTA (over-the-air) updates and a FreeRTOS-compatible architecture, with 13 communication interfaces (CAN, RS422, RS485, UART, USART, I2C, SPI) plus a high-speed LVDS interface exceeding 10Mbps. MASTER-CHIEF provides 8 GPIO and 6 ADC inputs, 3x SD storage memory, 64 Mb synchronous DRAM, 32-Mbit SPI serial flash memory and a 6-axis IMU, offering enhanced resilience for missions requiring independent, fault-tolerant critical data handling.
