MultiNode Device

MultiNode is Lacuna Space’s ready-to-deploy satellite IoT gateway device, designed to bridge existing terrestrial IoT sensor networks to the global LoneWhisper® satellite connectivity system. The device runs the LWiN® software stack onboard, handling all aspects of satellite pass timing, frequency selection, uplink scheduling, and data buffering autonomously without requiring changes to the connected sensors or their firmware.

MultiNode is targeted at integrators and enterprises who have existing LoRa-based sensor deployments and need to extend their reach beyond terrestrial network coverage. The device acts as a transparent relay: connected sensors transmit using standard LoRa/LoRaWAN protocols, and MultiNode handles all the complexity of the satellite link — including almanac reception, intelligent sleep-wake management, and LR-FHSS uplink — before forwarding aggregated data through Lacuna’s ground infrastructure to the customer’s application server.

This plug-and-play approach allows rapid deployment at new or remote sites without specialized satellite engineering expertise. MultiNode is suitable for environmental monitoring networks, agricultural sensor arrays, livestock tracking, and industrial asset monitoring in regions where cellular and terrestrial LoRa networks are unavailable or uneconomical to deploy.
