The SP1-S Aquarius™ is a radiation-tolerant 3U SpaceVPX single-board computer powered by NXP Layerscape LS1046A (four 64-bit ARM Cortex-A72 cores at 1.8 GHz) designed for LEO, GEO, lunar, and deep-space missions with SpaceWire, SpaceFibre, CANbus support and 100 krad TID tolerance.

The SP1-S Aquarius™ is Aitech’s flagship 3U SpaceVPX space-rated single-board computer, engineered for high-performance space missions spanning low Earth orbit through deep space. It is built around the NXP Layerscape LS1046A SoC with four 64-bit ARM Cortex-A72 cores running at 1.8 GHz, backed by 4 or 8 GB of DDR4 memory at 1050 MHz with ECC protection and a radiation-tolerant Polarfire FPGA co-processor.

The board targets demanding applications including orbit computation, Earth observation edge processing, command and data handling, robotic vision processing, power distribution control, and signal analysis. It complies with the SpaceVPX (VITA 78) open standard and supports the full range of space communication protocols including SpaceWire, SpaceFibre, CANbus, SPI, USB 2.0, and 1PPS timing.

With a total ionizing dose tolerance of 100 krad (Si) and latch-up immunity to 67 MeV-cm²/mg, the SP1-S covers the full radiation environment from LEO through GEO and beyond. It is available in air-cooled laboratory/EDU configurations and conduction-cooled flight units suitable for GEO+ missions. The board supports Linux and VxWorks RTOS.
