About
The S730 is Aitech’s radiation-tolerant SpaceWire PMC card, designed to add ESA-standard SpaceWire connectivity to the SP0-S single-board computer and other 3U CompactPCI host boards. It provides three full-duplex SpaceWire ports compliant with ESA ECSS-E-50-12C, each selectable up to 100 MHz clock frequency, enabling high-speed point-to-point data communication between spacecraft subsystems.
The card implements PCI bus master and target functions in an anti-fuse FPGA device, providing immunity to configuration upsets in radiation environments. It incorporates 128 MB of onboard volatile SDRAM to buffer SpaceWire data packets, managed via a DMA engine for efficient PCI data transfers. Independent port enable/disable capability and timecode generation and response per port allow flexible network topology management.
The card achieves greater than 100 krad (Si) total ionizing dose in its flight model configuration and consumes less than 5 watts for SpaceWire-only operation. Optional RS-422 serial interfaces (two channels) and 32 GPIO lines are available for additional low-speed connectivity.
