The VRW-D-2 provides 2.0 Nms of angular momentum and belongs to VECTRONIC Aerospace’s D-series of reaction wheels for small and medium satellites. It shares the VRW family architecture of brushless DC motor, PI-loop speed control on a 32-bit microprocessor, and four-quadrant PWM drive electronics, offering torque or speed control over RS422/RS485/CAN with radiation tolerance above 20 krad and in-orbit lifetime exceeding 45,000 hours.
