About
The VPCDU-1 provides power to spacecraft subsystems and payloads, drawing energy from the battery and/or solar array. It is a highly integrated power control device incorporating solar array and battery interfaces, power distribution to subsystems, and separation detection capabilities, managed by redundant microprocessor control. Eight VPCDU units are currently flying in orbit at the time of publication, reflecting the design’s flight heritage on small satellite power systems.
