The VRW-A-1 is an A-series reaction wheel from VECTRONIC Aerospace offering 6 Nms of angular momentum in a more compact envelope than the equivalent D-series wheel. It shares the VRW family’s brushless DC motor, 32-bit microprocessor PI-loop speed controller and four-quadrant PWM drive electronics, with torque or speed control over RS422/RS485/CAN, radiation tolerance above 20 krad and in-orbit lifetime exceeding 45,000 hours.
