About
The Terminator Tape Deorbit Module is a compact, lightweight module that enables a small satellite to comply with post-mission orbital lifetime restrictions with minimal mass, volume, footprint, cost and risk impact to the host program. Upon command from the spacecraft, or from an optional battery-powered timer module, the Terminator Tape opens and deploys a long, thin conductive tape. The tape interacts with the space environment to induce increased drag on the spacecraft, hastening its orbital decay through an entirely passive method. TUI has flight-heritage Terminator Tape modules sized for CubeSats, NanoSats and small microsats.
