About
The COBRA Gimbal is a space-qualified, 3-DOF (azimuth, elevation, thrust) pointing mechanism offering precise control in extreme environments. Implementing the Canfield Joint carpal-wrist design, COBRA provides full-hemisphere pointing capability for pinpoint accuracy using a precision-manufactured parallel-linkage joint system that delivers high repeatability and precision at low size, weight and power (SWaP). It provides continuous, singularity-free pointing without cable twist/wrap, eliminating slip rings, and the mechanism can be scaled and customized to mission requirements. COBRA-HPX is the standard/high-performance configuration in the family.
