About
HYDROS-M is the microsatellite-scale configuration of TUI’s HYDROS hybrid electrical/chemical propulsion system. It uses water as propellant, split on-orbit via zero-G electrolysis into hydrogen and oxygen for bipropellant combustion, giving higher thrust efficiency at lower input power than electric propulsion and higher specific impulse than monopropellant chemical propulsion. HYDROS-M is designed to fit inside a 15-inch separation ring, with a water tank size and configuration tailored to mission requirements, and includes integrated avionics to simplify commanding and host-spacecraft integration.
