About

Spectrolab’s 2V Dual Junction GaAs Laser Power Converter (LPC) is a high-efficiency photovoltaic device designed for converting monochromatic laser light to electrical power. Optimized specifically for 810 nm wavelength lasers, the device achieves 50–55% conversion efficiency — significantly higher than broadband solar cells — with a 1.5 mm diameter active area.

Based on GaAs multijunction technology, this LPC is suitable for power-over-fiber applications, laser power beaming systems, remote power delivery to sensors or electronics, and optical sensor powering in isolated environments. Spectrolab also offers 6V dual junction GaAs LPCs and metamorphic InGaAs converters for 900–1600 nm wavelengths. Available in chip form or packaged configurations for integration into customer systems.
