About
Since their debut in 2008, over 600 Pumpkin Modular Deployable Solar Array System (PMDSAS) solar panels have enjoyed a 100% success rate on-orbit, from LEO all the way to GTO. This particular panel is for use with the ISIS AntS antenna module: a 0.024 in / 0.6 mm thick fixed solar panel that replaces the default cover on the AntS, and generates over 2W in AM0 conditions. It is classified as Flight Hardware | Flight Qualified | Space Proven.
Pumpkin’s proprietary PMDSAS construction methods ensure an extremely robust panel that withstands launch loads and vibration. Every single panel undergoes a vacuum bakeout, followed by a comprehensive irradiance test to ensure proper operation. Over the years, PMDSAS panels have seamlessly migrated from triple-junction cells that started around 28% AM0 efficiency and are now at better than 32% AM0 efficiency, yielding what Pumpkin describes as some of the highest-quality and often lightest solar panels available on the market.
