About
The Quad-switch Cover Plate Assembly permits the use of up to four separation/inhibit switches. This cover plate can be installed in any of four orientations at the top of a CubeSat Kit structure. It is flight hardware, flight qualified and space proven.
When used with standard CubeSat Kit structures, only three switches can be fitted due to a mechanical interference between the riveted edge of the CubeSat Kit Chassis Walls and this cover plate. Accompanying documentation explains how end-users must remove one of four switch mounting tabs when using this cover plate assembly with a standard CubeSat Kit chassis wall. When used with a CubeSat Kit Pro chassis, all four switch locations can be used.
This cover plate assembly is available in a solid-wall style and in a style that has a central hole of 88mm diameter. It is supplied with four independent separation switches, each with C, NC and NO solder terminals.
Precision constructed from Al 5052-H32 and plated according to the CubeSat Design Specification (CDS), each Quad-Switch Cover Plate Assembly is secured to Chassis Walls via four M3 flathead stainless-steel screws. Each assembly includes four corner feet and associated fasteners, four complete C/NO/NC separation/inhibit switches, and the requisite hardware to secure the switches onto the cover plate. Compatible with both CubeSat Kit and CubeSat Kit Pro structures. A related datasheet document explains how to use and modify the assembly for standard CubeSat Kit structures.
