About
This is a full-size (approximately 360.5mm x 200mm x 100mm) plastic model of a 6U ‘tabbed’ CubeSat for use with the Rocket Lab Canisterized Satellite Dispenser (CSD) 6U deployer. Were it an actual CubeSat, it would represent an assembled CubeSat compatible with the 6U CSD, the Maverick Space Systems (MSS) Mercury-6, and similar CubeSat dispensers. This model reproduces Pumpkin’s line of SUPERNOVA 6U structures and has dummy solar panels with highly realistic solar cell stickers on all four panels. The solar array simulates the Pumpkin 64-cell ‘propeller’ configuration in the deployed configuration. It is classified as Display Hardware, Not for Flight.
This display model is excellent for trade show displays and for mission fundraising, as it conveys the scale of a 6U CubeSat in a form that can be displayed in front of an audience. The model has no electrical functionality, and no part can be converted to a flight-ready component. There are no separation mechanisms, nor deployment switches. The structure is a one-piece model and is not intended to be disassembled; the simulated solar panels can be detached to make it more transportable.
