About
SKYBLUE is Perigee Aerospace’s reliable and robust helium pressure-fed propulsion system, burning LOX/LNG propellant. Designed for restart capability and deep throttling (20-100%), SKYBLUE is used as the upper-stage engine on Blue Whale 1, providing 7 kN of vacuum thrust at 355 seconds specific impulse. Beyond launch vehicle upper stages, SKYBLUE’s precision throttling and restart reliability make it suited to lunar lander propulsion and hypersonic sounding rocket applications, and it is available in a dual-cluster configuration for missions requiring redundancy or higher total thrust.
