Walchandnagar Industries Limited (WIL) is an ISO 9001:2015 certified Indian heavy-engineering company listed on the BSE and NSE, carrying a legacy of more than 100 years of engineering excellence since its founding in 1908. Headquartered in Pune, Maharashtra, with major manufacturing facilities at Walchandnagar, Satara, Dharwad and Dahej, WIL operates across strategic sectors — Aerospace, Defence & Missiles, and Nuclear Power — alongside industrial products such as gear boxes, centrifugal machines and precision castings.

WIL's association with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) began in 1973 with the manufacture of motor cases for the SLV-3 programme. Since then, the company has been a continuous fabrication partner across India's launch-vehicle evolution — SLV-3, ASLV, PSLV and GSLV Mk II and Mk III — supplying strap-on booster casings, core booster motor segments, nozzles, tankages and end rings. Hardware built by WIL has flown on the missions that orbited ROHINI, SROSS, IRS and INSAT/G-SAT satellites, and the company takes pride in having contributed critical fabricated equipment to India's first Moon mission, Chandrayaan-1, and to the Mars Orbiter Mission, Mangalyaan.

WIL holds recognized expertise in handling aerospace-grade materials including 15CDV6 alloy steel, high-strength maraging steel, titanium alloys and aluminium alloys, and has established process parameters for metal forming, metal joining, heat treatment, fabrication, precision machining and pressure testing of very large, complex-geometry rocket motor cases. Its current fabrication capacity supports hardware deliveries for up to 12 PSLV flights and 4 GSLV Mk III flights per year, underpinned by state-of-the-art manufacturing infrastructure and quality systems built to meet ISRO's stringent specifications.
