Skyloom Global Corp.

Skyloom Global Corp. was founded in April 2017 with a mission to build fiberless optical internet infrastructure in space. The company began operations in Oakland, California in 2020 before relocating its headquarters and manufacturing to a 25,000-square-foot facility in Broomfield, Colorado, in 2023, where it is AS9100 certified.

Skyloom develops laser optical communication terminals and a GEO relay network, having delivered terminals for the Space Development Agency's Tranche 0 and Tranche 1 programs, including deliveries to York Space Systems launched on Ariane 6, and integration work with Satellogic. The company has also partnered with SpaceCompass on a GEO relay agreement, with Officina Stellare (branded Skyloom Europe), and collaborated with Honeywell and NEC, in addition to demonstrations with Axiom Space and Kepler Communications and an $18 million USAF award.

Skyloom's product line covers the full optical relay chain: LEO-to-LEO and LEO-to-ground/airborne/maritime terminals, LEO user terminals linking to GEO relay satellites, a GEO optical relay satellite, and ground-based optical ground stations. In 2026 the company became a wholly-owned subsidiary of IonQ, Inc.
