About Rapid Cubes GmbH

Rapid Cubes GmbH is a spin-off from the Chair of Space Technology at Technische Universität Berlin, founded in 2021 by Walter Frese and Dr. Zizung Yoon. The company's mission is to provide fast and reliable nanosatellite technology, systems, and missions to accelerate its customers' business and science goals. Built on a combined 30+ years of satellite engineering experience, its founders were core members of the TU Berlin team that developed and deployed several nanosatellite missions.

The company's product heritage traces directly to the TUBiX10 nanosatellite platform, licensed from TU Berlin. This platform has proven in-orbit heritage through the S-NET mission (launched February 2018, 4 satellites demonstrating inter-satellite communication) and the SALSAT mission (2020). Rapid Cubes has since developed an expanded family of platforms from the 8 kg RapidCube-6 to the 100 kg RapidCube-100.

Rapid Cubes is actively engaged in several joint missions with TU Berlin, including OOV-CUBE (launched on Ariane-6's inaugural flight in July 2024), AIOTY-CUBE, and AITHER — demonstrating capabilities spanning IoT, Earth observation, AI inference, inter-satellite links, and advanced solar cell technology. Beyond hardware, the company provides comprehensive mission support including payload integration, functional testing, launch campaign coordination, and payload data delivery.
