Leaf Space

Leaf Space is an Italian space ground segment company founded in 2014 at the Politecnico di Milano, where it built its first antenna in a garage. The company has grown into a leading provider of Ground Segment as a Service (GSaaS), operating a global network of more than 40 ground stations across 19 locations, supporting over 140 satellites with more than 24,000 monthly communication passes.

Leaf Space's service portfolio is structured around three primary offerings. Leaf Line provides operators with access to the company's global ground station network on a subscription or pay-per-use basis, enabling seamless connectivity, reliable data transfer, and centralized management without the capital expense of owning ground infrastructure. Leaf Key offers dedicated, single-tenant ground station access for operators requiring reserved capacity. Leaf Hosting provides co-location and hosted ground station services, allowing customers to deploy and operate their own hardware within Leaf Space's infrastructure.

Founded as a startup spun out of the Politecnico di Milano, Leaf Space secured $1M at founding, grew through a 2016 network expansion funded by €1M, launched its first commercial service (Leaf Line) in 2018, and entered the US market in 2020 with an €8M Series A round. A recent $35M funding round has accelerated global network expansion and product development. The company serves commercial satellite operators, research institutions, and government missions requiring flexible, scalable ground communication solutions.
