About this service
ION Hosted Payload flies a customer payload as a permanent passenger on an ION Satellite Carrier, providing power, thermal control, attitude pointing and ground-link backhaul for the mission lifetime. Customers gain rapid access to space without operating a dedicated satellite bus.
The service provides standardized plug-and-play mechanical, electrical and data interfaces; attitude control for optimal sun, darkness, Earth and horizon exposure; and managed uplink/downlink and on-board memory resources. Multiple launch opportunities are scheduled annually into LEO, SSO and GEO.
