About
The NSR-SDR-S/S is a fully integrated, full-duplex software-defined radio transponder built for small satellite applications with a flight-proven design. It packages S-band transmit and receive into a compact 1/3U CubeSat form factor with a built-in antenna switch for nadir and space-facing antennas.
The radio is fully programmable in frequency, waveform, and SSPA power level, and supports NASA NEN, TDRS-MA, USB waveforms, coherent turnaround/ranging, PROXIMITY-1, and crosslink operation. It is rated for a 5-year mission life and is suited to LEO, GTO, and cislunar/lunar missions.
Security is handled via embedded software-based encryption, with an optional integrated TSAB (Type-1) encryption module for higher-assurance missions. The transponder is compatible with a broad range of ground segments including AWS Ground Station, SSC, KSAT, Atlas Space, MC3, CCSDS-standard systems, NASA NEN, TDRS-MA, and DSN.
