About
The Dynamic Star Simulator DSS-25 is an ultra-compact ground support device produced by TY-Space, engineered specifically to perform functional and performance testing on satellite-mounted star trackers before launch. It simulates a realistic dynamic star field within a 20×20 degree field of view, spanning a magnitude range of 2 to 6.5 Mv, allowing star tracker units under test to acquire and track simulated stars as if in orbit. With a high update rate (>=40 Hz) and 2560×2560 resolution, it can drive dynamic attitude simulations for closed-loop testing of star tracker performance, accuracy, and tracking behavior. Its low mass (<400g) and wide working temperature range (-40C to 45C) make it suitable for lab and integration environments, and it communicates via RS422 or UDP interfaces. Rated for a cumulative operating life of 3 years, it serves as a reusable ground test asset for star tracker qualification and acceptance testing.
