SSTL-CUBE

SSTL-CUBE is SSTL’s 12U cubesat-class platform, positioned as a low-cost entry-level offering that takes the cubesat standard to the next level while retaining SSTL’s proven system engineering processes. It is primarily used for SSTL’s Training Satellite Build Programme, allowing small groups of customer engineers to gain hands-on, end-to-end satellite systems engineering experience and take home an operational mission at the end of the programme. The core architecture is based on SSTL’s OBC, providing an easy step-up path to future SSTL-MICRO missions. Example configurations include a 12U Earth Observation satellite (Cube-Vista) and an 8U communications satellite (Cube-Signal), suitable for payloads such as Earth imaging, software defined radio, small LEO telecoms, technology demonstration, radiation monitoring and AIS.
