About

Satellite TY-33 is a 50kg-class space science experiment satellite jointly developed by Spacety and Hunan University of Science and Technology, launched 9 December 2023 on a Zhuque-2 Telemetry-3 rocket from Jiuquan. It carries remote-sensing camera modules and multiple novel-technology payloads, debuting several Spacety-developed platform technologies: newly developed thermal control technology achieving a design temperature-control accuracy better than 0.5°C in space-constrained volumes, cutting temperature-control energy consumption by more than 50%; a multi-layer high-performance composite structure for enhanced radiation protection; and a high-power, long-duration power-supply technology enabling sustained power-on status under normalized high-current payload operation for uninterrupted in-orbit experiments. TY-33 also hosts a Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications research payload running the open-source real-time dual-kernel operating system RROS (written in Rust) — the world’s first Rust-based dual-kernel OS flown on a satellite — supporting workloads from TensorFlow/Kubernetes-style general computing to real-time file systems, network transmission, latency measurement, live video, and web/SSH services.
