About
The piPATCH-S-UL is a Space-Friendly, highly radiation-efficient ZeroCore CubeSat S-band patch antenna working across the entire S-uplink band (2025-2110 MHz), intended for high-data-rate satellite communication systems. Like its downlink counterpart, it uses a ZeroCore permittivity layer close to 1 and back-side EMI shielding instead of high-permittivity dielectric loading used by conventional microstrip antennas, reducing coupling of noise from the satellite bus and harness into the S-band uplink receiver chain and improving signal-to-noise ratio. RHCP is achieved with a hybrid 0/90-degree phasing module. Measured RHCP mode gain is +4.7 dBd / +5.55 dBiC (front lobe), gain flatness +/-1 dB over the band, and axial ratio better than 1 dB (+/-45 degrees). The antenna is available in X/Y-mount (98×82.6 mm) or Z-mount (98×98 mm), with a 50-ohm MCX-Female right-angle output connector (SMA-Female on request), rated over -40 to +85 degC. Offered as Flight Model (FM) and unmarked OEM Flight Model variants.
