About

The piMAGGYRO is a Space-Friendly non-deployable tri-axial digital CubeSat magnetometer and gyroscope with a telemetry engine, designed to provide in-situ magnetic field measurements in orbit together with angular rate sensing. Bx, By, Bz, Bt magnetic field components and angular rate components are provided at a 10 Hz update rate, along with unit temperature, input voltage, and uptime sampling in 100 ms steps via internal timestamping. The unit is especially suitable for geomagnetic field measurement and safety precautions for free-flying satellites, docking systems, large booms, solar sails, solar wing panels, or active ADCS/propulsion-equipped satellites with no deployables needed. The unit can activate OVERFLUX, OVERRATE, and ERROR alarm signals over GPIO within 25 ms reaction time to inform the upper-level system of artificially disturbed geomagnetic fields, dangerous tumbling rates, or unexpected space events. No commands or settings are required to get data out.
