About

The BusCORE Groundstation Terminal is a full space-to-Earth, Earth-to-space radio communication infrastructure matched to the BusCORE Satellite RF Terminal, featuring a 50 W solid-state power amplifier, high sensitivity receiver, variable-bitrate modulator/demodulator, fast solid-state RX/TX switch, an RF monitor output for an external spectrum analyzer, and a USB interface to the control PC. It operates in the UHF amateur band 435.000-438.000 MHz with 2GFSK modulation at variable bitrates from 1200 to 38,400 bps, automatic bitrate fallback to 4800 bps nominal, and automatic AFC without Doppler compensation at 4800-38400 bps. Since March 2026 it provides full standalone hardware support for bidirectional 9600 bps AX.25/G3RUH-framed legacy amateur radio satellite links at -106 dBm 5% PER sensitivity. Receive sensitivity reaches -120 dBm at 1200 bps and -106 dBm at 38400 bps (5% PER), with up to 3000 km slant range for LEO satellites up to 1000 km altitude. The unit includes a harmonic filter SSPA rated 50 W at 50 ohms, forward/reflected power measurement, a no-antenna-tolerant SSPA, a 2-line RGB-backlit status LCD, indicator LEDs, an embedded speaker with volume control, squelch gate, and an optically isolated USB interface with a 1,250,000 bps virtual COM port. It is powered at 13.8 V @ 8 A (50 W RF out), housed in a 3U 19-inch rack-mount chassis with a cooling fan, N-Female antenna and monitor ports, and an Amphenol base-station 60V/26A power connector, rated 0 to +70 degC.
