About
AirSAR-Alpha-L is Sisir Radar’s multi-channel Synthetic Aperture Radar payload delivering the highest resolution currently achievable in the L band. The L-band system provides foliage penetration (FOPEN) capability, not achievable in C or X band radars, and is optimized for Size, Weight and Power (SWaP) so it can be integrated into tactical UAVs, VTOL and fixed-wing UAVs as well as manned aircraft. Collected data is processed with Sisir Radar’s proprietary airborne SAR processor, which includes a custom motion-compensation algorithm supporting all airborne platforms including low-altitude, low-velocity drones. The payload and processor software support all polarimetric modes (single, dual, hybrid, full) and interferometric data processing. A P-band variant of the same payload family is under development for underground tunnel and landmine detection. Applications include 24/7 all-weather surveillance and reconnaissance, cross-border monitoring, detection of equipment and weaponry hidden in forested terrain, and disaster monitoring.
