About
S4 delivers satellite systems tailored to customer payload needs at minimum mass for maximum cost efficiency, typically in the 1-10 kg range and up to 20 kg, often but not necessarily CubeSat-standard compliant. The team’s expertise spans traditional interplanetary missions such as Cassini/Huygens and Rosetta, Earth observation missions such as ERS-1 and Cluster, and pioneering German CubeSat development with UWE-1, the first German pico-satellite, built from scratch with commercial components in Wuerzburg. Heritage includes 1-3 unit CubeSats across broad application fields, telecommunications experiments for in-space internet since 2005, and Earth observation sensor network missions TOM and TIM. S4 maintains in-house ground station infrastructure with UHF, VHF, S-Band and X-Band antennas, and dynamic test equipment supporting multi-satellite formation development.
