About
The 3D PLUS IP RIMC (Radiation Intelligent Memory Controller) is a fully configurable DDR2/3/4 SDRAM memory controller IP core designed to work with 3D PLUS DDR2/3/4 memory modules to achieve radiation tolerance improvement. The IP core contains standard DDR controller functions supporting data widths from 8-bit to 144-bit, plus dedicated Single Event Upset (SEU) mitigation and Single Event Functional Interrupt (SEFI) protection capabilities.
The RIMC supports DFI 2.1 (DDR2/3) and DFI 3.1 (DDR4) PHY interface standards, with an AMBA-compliant user interface (AXI/AHB/APB) for straightforward integration into FPGA and ASIC designs. ECC options include Hamming and Reed-Solomon encoding. A dedicated 8-bit APB slave interface provides configuration access.
Maximum operating speed reaches 1,200 MHz for DDR4 operation. Three part numbers cover the full DDR generation range: 3DIPMC0700 (DDR2), 3DIPMC0744 (DDR3), and 3DIPMC0815 (DDR4). The RIMC integrates seamlessly with the 3D PLUS DDR4 SDRAM family and DDR4 Termination Regulator to form a complete radiation-hardened memory subsystem.
The RIMC IP core enables system designers to deploy 3D PLUS DDR memory in radiation environments that would otherwise cause unacceptable error rates, making it essential for LEO, MEO, and GEO applications.
