About

The 3D PLUS IRIS 4Mpx Space Camera System is a turn-key imaging solution that combines the space-qualified CASPEX 4 Megapixel camera head with space-grade optical lenses and a structural mechanical casing, delivering a complete ready-to-integrate camera for LEO, GEO, and deep-space missions. The system outputs imagery via SpaceWire (2× MDM 9-pin connectors), eliminating the need for custom camera electronics development.

The IRIS is available in eight configurations covering four focal lengths (8 mm, 11 mm, 25 mm, 50 mm) in both monochrome and RGB versions. The 5 mm aluminum casing weighs less than 400 g and accommodates various integration approaches. Burst frame rates reach 5 fps with sustained continuous operation at 2 fps.

Radiation performance inherits from the CASPEX 4M camera head: TID tolerance greater than 30 krad and SEL LETth of 60 MeV.cm²/mg. Operating temperature spans -40°C to +55°C. Power supply accepts 4.5–9V, compatible with standard spacecraft secondary power rails.

Suitable applications include scientific imaging, platform monitoring, star-tracking, terrain-relative navigation, and rendezvous and docking systems. Part numbers range from 3DCS04M080942 (8 mm mono) to 3DCS04M500962 (50 mm RGB).
