About
The 3D PLUS Reed Solomon Space IP Core is an encoding and decoding IP core designed to provide error detection and correction protection for data storage in space applications. The implementation is based on the Galois field GL(2^4), with symbols coded on 4 bits and a maximum message size of 15 symbols (60 bits) after encoding.
The core supports configurable 1-symbol or 2-symbol correction capacity with incorrigible error detection capability. The encoder is implemented as a combinatory entity for zero-latency operation, while the decoder output delay is configurable for system integration flexibility. A symbol correction indication signal is provided for system monitoring.
Two part numbers are available: 3DIPEC0726 (Reed Solomon with 2-symbol correction) and 3DIPEC0725 (Reed Solomon with 1-symbol correction). Both cores integrate with 3D PLUS memory products and FPGA-based systems to form complete radiation-hardened memory subsystems.
This IP core complements the RIMC memory controller IP and enables system designers to implement application-specific error correction architectures tailored to their radiation environment and reliability requirements.
