About
The 3D PLUS 3DPM0356 Protection Switch is a radiation-hardened module that monitors supply lines to prevent failure propagation and isolate sources of upstream power distribution network failures. When an over-current event is detected, the device switches off the downstream power supply within 20 μs maximum to protect downstream loads from damage.
The adjustable current threshold is set via an external resistor (RADJ), and re-powering is controlled through EN and OVP# digital input signals. The device handles input voltages from 3V to 12V with a maximum line current of 7A and a voltage drop of only 90 mV at full load, minimizing power dissipation in the switch element.
Radiation performance includes TID tolerance greater than 50 krad(Si), SEL LETth of 62.5 MeV.cm²/mg, and SET LETth greater than 60 MeV.cm²/mg. The device is packaged in a compact 48-pin BGA (13×13×9.8 mm, 1.27 mm pitch) and operates from -40°C to +105°C. Temperature grades C, I, and S are available.
The switch is designed to protect individual board-level loads or complete power domains in space power distribution architectures, complementing latch-up current limiters and point-of-load converters in complete power management subsystems.
