About Teledyne e2v

Teledyne e2v is a leading British technology company specializing in imaging sensors, microwave/RF components, and semiconductor solutions for space, defense, and life sciences. Founded in Chelmsford, Essex, England in 1947 (originally as part of the Marconi group manufacturing magnetrons for radar), e2v grew into a globally recognized sensor manufacturer. In March 2017, e2v was acquired by US-based Teledyne Technologies and became Teledyne e2v.

Key space products include CCD and CMOS imaging sensors that have flown on the Hubble Space Telescope (Wide Field Camera 3), ESA's Gaia mission (one billion-pixel mosaic — the largest imaging sensor in space at the time), the JANUS instrument on ESA's JUICE mission to Jupiter, and the UK TRUTHS climate-calibration mission. The company's scientific CCD and electron-multiplying CCD (EMCCD) product families, including the CCD290, CCD230, CCD201 and CCD351 series, remain core building blocks for astronomy, Earth observation and low-light scientific imaging instruments worldwide.

Teledyne e2v maintains centers of excellence in Chelmsford (UK), Grenoble (France), Seville (Spain), and Beijing (China).
