ATLAS ICU (Initiation Control Unit)
PC-controlled current-pulse generator and control electronics for synchronized initiation of release actuators in ground testing.
Description
The ATLAS ICU is a control electronics unit for easy, synchronized initiation of hold-down and release actuators during ground test campaigns of space mechanisms. Configuration of release scenarios takes seconds via intuitive PC software, ensuring synchronized activation of up to 5 actuators (10 independent power lines) via current pulse with millisecond precision. Compatible with any fuse-based non-explosive release actuator, fully enclosed and cleanroom-friendly, with safety features including activation from internal memory and a tripled safety barrier. The package includes the unit, a control laptop, and a dedicated transport box.
