About
NavCam is Vimotek’s autonomous sensing and perception system, developed to solve a recognized gap in reliable sensing for scalable, autonomous proximity operations in orbit. It converts raw sensing data into spacecraft control commands, allowing customers to focus on their own service offering and mission differentiation rather than on developing in-house relative-navigation sensing.
NavCam is aimed at in-orbit servicing use cases such as inspection, rendezvous, docking, refuelling, repair, relocation, assembly and resupply of satellites. Vimotek is developing the underlying sensor technology, including a novel space LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) sensor, with funding support from the Swedish National Space Agency, and cooperates with Luleå University of Technology on proximity navigation and docking research to advance the platform.
