Vimotek

Vimotek AB is a Swedish space technology company headquartered in Luleå, developing vision and motion technology for autonomous in-space operations. The company equips space companies' engineering and operations teams with solutions that de-risk proximity operations for inspection, refuelling, repair, relocation, assembly, resupply and disposal of satellites, accelerating time-to-orbit and enabling the scaling of in-orbit services.

Vimotek's product line spans two closely associated domains: OrbitTwin, a digital twin platform for spacecraft and missions that allows simulation and validation of custom proximity-operations scenarios during development and operations by modelling real conditions and events; and NavCam, an autonomous sensing and perception system that converts sensor data directly into spacecraft control commands, addressing a recognized gap in reliable sensing for scalable rendezvous, proximity operations and docking.

Vimotek AB was selected by the European Defence Fund (EDF) as part of the BODYGUARD Project (EDF-2023-RA-SPACE-PSA), and separately received Swedish National Space Agency funding to develop a novel space LiDAR sensor to aid proximity navigation for satellites in orbit. The company also cooperates with Luleå University of Technology on proximity navigation, docking and inspection research for in-orbit servicing.
