About
T-Minus DART is a two-stage solid-propellant sounding rocket system built to reach the 50-120km altitude band, an area too high for balloons and too low for orbital satellites, often called the ignorosphere. The system consists of an AP-composite solid rocket booster with a carbon-fiber-reinforced-polymer (CFRP) casing that accelerates a slender dart-shaped payload vehicle to altitude, where it separates and continues ballistically, carrying scientific or technology-demonstration payloads. The booster and dart are designed and manufactured in-house by T-Minus at its own propellant and mechanical/electrical workshops in Delft, the Netherlands, giving short lead times and lower cost compared to traditional sounding rocket programs.
