About
GA-Synopta offers two optical ground station configurations: the Stationary Adaptive Optical Ground Station (S-AOGS) with telescopes larger than 0.5 m, and the Transportable Adaptive Optical Ground Station (T-AOGS) with telescopes from 0.25 m to 1 m. Both support bi-directional transmit/receive operation, an optional feeder-link configuration for very high data rates, and quantum cryptography applications. The modular design supports coherent and incoherent, fiber-coupled and free-space communication systems at multiple wavelengths such as 1064 nm and 1550 nm, with support for autonomous network operation. Transportable stations include automatic line-of-sight calibration for fast re-commissioning, agile pointing and tracking for fast LEO satellite acquisition at low elevation, and standard adaptive optics to compensate for atmospheric turbulence. GA-Synopta also supplies tailored adaptive optics modules to upgrade existing ground stations or astronomical telescopes, scaled to telescope size and user requirements.
