ASTRA is Stars Edge’s compressed-gas auxiliary propulsion system, designed to complement the company’s air-breathing AERIS propulsion for missions requiring orbit-raising, stationkeeping, or maneuvering beyond the VLEO regime where AERIS operates. Using a stored compressed-gas propellant, ASTRA provides a simple, reliable auxiliary thrust source suitable for LEO and GEO satellite platforms, extending Stars Edge’s propulsion product line beyond its core VLEO air-breathing technology to serve a broader range of satellite operator needs.
