About
This reaction wheel provides small satellites with 3-axis control torques and momentum exchange capability. Integration with external gyroscopes enables 3-axis control of a spacecraft’s inertial rates; the high torque and wheel momentum make it suitable for agile or larger small satellites. Each wheel has built-in electronics and software for controlling the wheel and an optional gyroscope, and can operate independently in current, speed or torque control modes, or be integrated with a gyro for inertial rate/angle control modes.
Qualification heritage comes from flight heritage on the SUNSAT and TUBSAT satellites, with the latest generation fully flight qualified and slated to fly on the Orbcomm 2nd Generation constellation.
