About

The SpaceFab OMP330 is SpaceFab’s first 3D printer, using patent-pending inter-layer laser processing to print a mix of different metals, ceramics and plastics all in the same part. It targets a lower price point than the cheapest single-metal 3D printer on the market, with roughly eight times the print volume, and can combine up to three different materials with different compositions and melting points. The OMP330 features a closed inert-gas print chamber with all-in-one processing, is laser-light eye safe, and includes changeable particulate and VOC filters. Unlike systems that require separate de-binding or sintering equipment, all tool changing, de-binding, sintering and melting occur inside the printer, saving floor space, labor and expense. It uses filament-based material rather than powder, avoiding related safety and handling issues, and can print infills from 100% down to 10%, with part thickness limited only by the print bed, unlike binder-based metal printers restricted to roughly 4-5 mm thickness at 100% infill.
