About
The Solstar LWIFI-X is a radiation-hardened, space-rated WiFi access point designed for human-rated space environments including lunar rovers, surface habitats, space stations, and crew capsules. It provides wireless connectivity to any WiFi-enabled device — laptops, smartphones, experiment controllers — with minimal volume, weight, and power consumption.
The LWIFI-X supports LunaNet integration, RPOD (Rendezvous, Proximity Operations, and Docking), and ISAM (In-Space Servicing, Assembly, and Manufacturing) use cases. It is developed under a NASA SBIR contract awarded in 2025 for Lunar Wi-Fi system development, with customisable mission criticality levels and options for redundancy configurations appropriate for deep space environments.
