About
The Auriga is Sodern’s compact off-the-shelf star tracker, purpose-designed for small satellites (6U and above) and New Space constellation programmes where cost, size, weight, and time-to-delivery are critical constraints. The Auriga provides high-precision autonomous attitude determination in a self-contained package compatible with modern small satellite bus interfaces.
The Auriga was selected to equip the entire OneWeb broadband constellation, with over 1,800 units delivered, demonstrating mass production capability and reliability at constellation scale. Further heritage includes the NASA Blue Ghost 1 lunar lander mission that successfully landed on the Moon in 2025, and DLR’s COMPASSO mission (2025 selection). The design prioritises rapid integration, low power consumption, and compatibility with diverse satellite bus architectures.
As a catalogue product, Auriga is available immediately from stock with short lead times, enabling New Space operators to meet aggressive development schedules without the long procurement cycles associated with bespoke attitude sensors. Sodern’s scale as a subsidiary of ArianeGroup supports volume orders for large constellations.
