About
SURGE is SkyServe’s end-to-end developer platform that enables satellite operators and data scientists to build, simulate, test, and deploy AI-powered applications onboard remote sensing satellites via a browser interface — no on-site hardware access required.
Users select a sensor, pick or customise pre-built processing templates, write Python scripts, import ONNX models, and execute them in a simulated or live on-orbit environment through a REST API. SURGE supports the full model lifecycle: Develop → Test → Calibrate → Deploy → Update → Task. It integrates directly with STORM-enabled satellites and provides real-time monitoring dashboards. This lets operators add cloud segmentation, dark vessel detection, crop stress mapping, or custom analytics to existing satellites without any hardware changes.
