About

STORM is SkyServe’s satellite operating system and middleware layer designed to run AI and Earth observation processing pipelines directly on satellite hardware. Built on an optimised Linux base, STORM orchestrates workflows as atomic task units, comes pre-loaded with EO, SAR, and RF pre-processing templates, and supports popular AI/ML runtimes including TensorFlow, PyTorch, and ONNX.

It handles task scheduling, resource management, and secure model uplink/downlink, enabling satellite operators to deploy and update AI models in orbit without hardware modifications. STORM has been validated in orbit across missions with D-Orbit (Matterhorn), Loft Orbital (Denali), and SatRev (K2), and through AI model validation work with NASA JPL. The system underpins real-time applications including dark ship detection, illegal mining alerts, oil spill detection, methane tracking, and crop stress mapping.
